wet signal
Effects such as phasers and chorus pedals combine the wet signal with the dry signal to create their characteristic sounds, while vibrato modes output only the wet signal, which can sound thinner and quieter with more pronounced pitch warble1. Many pedals provide controls dedicated to the wet signal, such as tone or texture controls that adjust its sound23, mix knobs that balance it against the dry signal4, and blend controls that set how much of it is mixed in5. Some designs apply processing only to the wet signal, such as distortion that can affect just the wet portion or the whole output6, or effects loops that let players route the wet signal through additional pedals7.
