Death By Audio Speed Tripper

Death by Audio Partners With Levitation for the Speed Tripper Leave a comment

Death By Audio has joined forces with Texas alternative music festival Levitation for the Speed Tripper, a feedback phasing delay pedal.

Limited to only 666 units, the Speed Tripper acts as an optical phaser positioned in the feedback loop of a delay circuit, yielding “filtered, morphing swells that sound beyond psychedelic.”

As the product description puts it, “It seems like such a simple concept; we were surprised we had never heard this before. The actual sounds of tripping! Slap on the Death By Audio touch where ‘everything must be done to the extreme’ and there you have it, you are tripping on speed!”

Control-wise, the Speed Tripper consists of four dials for feedback, intensity, delay time, and tripper speed. Feedback and delay time control the delay circuit, while the other two knobs control the phaser.

Additionally, the intensity dial lets you decide the amount of the delayed signal that goes into the phaser circuit. It is “highly interactive” with the feedback knob, driving your sound into highly modulated madness at higher settings.

Internally, the Speed Tripper contains a blend pot that balances between the wet and dry signals.

The Death By Audio Speed Tripper lists for $269 and will ship around late October to early November.
