A3 Stompbox Custom Expression Pedal

The Custom Expression Pedal from A3 Stompbox is an analog foot controller that covers three jobs in one unit: it works as an expression pedal, as a volume pedal, and as a tuner controller¹. RockBoard's PedalPedia describes it as offering "a super smooth volume curve for precise volume controls and is specially voiced for guitars and basses," so it is aimed at players of either instrument¹.

How it is built

Inside the pedal is a custom made 250k potentiometer, and the rocking action is driven by what RockBoard's PedalPedia calls A3's "indestructible life-time string"¹. The housing is stainless steel, which RockBoard's PedalPedia describes as making the unit "very light but still very robust," built, in its words, "like a tank"¹.

Who makes it

A3 Stompbox is described as "the boutique pedal company based in South Korea"¹. The Custom Expression Pedal sits in the company's range alongside its expression, volume and tuner functions in a single footprint, rather than requiring separate units for each job¹.
