The Axewerx Glass Drive is an octave, overdrive, distortion and fuzz pedal, all in one enclosure. It is a dual-stage design with two channels, Drop on the left and Lift on the right, and the two can be used independently or stacked together1. For a player, that means one pedal covering ground usually spread across separate overdrive, distortion, fuzz and octave units.
What it does
The Glass Drive is described by Pedal of the Day as "a filthy & flexible dual-stage octave" dirt pedal. Its circuit is analog, with what the reviewer calls "a custom-made analog pedal (with one digital chip…shhh)", so the octave and dirt stages run in the analog domain with a single digital component somewhere in the chain1.
The pedal's controls include a Filter knob, which controls the tone shaping1. There is also a buffered input, which the reviewer notes is there "for signal stability and clarity", a useful detail if the Glass Drive sits on a larger board with other pedals after it1.
Build and design
The Glass Drive is not a mass-produced box. Pedal of the Day describes it as "Breadboarded, refined, designed, and assembled by hand on a custom PCB", and the enclosure carries UV-printed graphics1. The reviewer's verdict on the build:
"Cheers to Axewerx on a unique, amazing build with the Glass Drive Octave Overdrive Distortion Fuzz1."
