The Nightcap Reverb is a reverb pedal from Backwoods Music, described by Pedal of the Day as the maker's "newest reverb creation" when it was reviewed in September 20151. It sits in the reverb category: a pedal that adds ambience to your signal, from short slapback echoes to large hall-style spaces.

What it does

The Nightcap keeps things simple: two control knobs cover four reverb modes. The first knob selects the mode, and the four settings are1:

  • Slapback, for short reverberated tones1
  • Room, which echoes the classic spring reverb sounds on old tube amps1
  • Hall1
  • Arena1

The second knob is the Mix control, which sets how much reverb is blended with your dry signal1.

Pedal of the Day's reviewer was struck by how much space two knobs could produce: "Featuring only 2 control knobs, the amount of ambience oozing out of this pedal is a bit astonishing"1.

The pedal switches with a soft touch bypass footswitch and runs true bypass, so your signal passes through untouched when it is off1.
