The Zzombee Filtremulator Limited Edition Sweet Sting is a hand-finished version of Beetronics' Zzombee Filtremulator, a multi-effect pedal that puts fuzz, a modulated filter, tremolo and a synth-style low octave in one box. Beetronics describes it as "a fully analog multi-effect that fuses fuzz, filter, tremolo, and a synthy low octave into a wildly expressive tone"1. The Sweet Sting is a limited edition of that circuit, and as of October 2026 it is listed as sold out at the maker's store1.
The pedal's signature effect is what Beetronics calls the cross-tremolo, an original circuit that "alternates between your clean signal and a low octave, creating a rhythmic, synthy pulse"1. Underneath that sit four gain stages and three modulated filter modes, so one box covers ground that would normally take a fuzz pedal, a filter or wah, and a tremolo separately2.
Fuzz, filter, tremolo and low octave in one analog pedal
The signal path is analog, but the pedal is what Beetronics calls "digitally parasitized": digital control handles tap tempo and presets while the audio itself stays analog4. For a player, that means the fuzz and filter character comes from analog circuitry, while the timing and memory functions behave like a modern digital pedal.
MusicRadar's review lists the control set:
| Control | Function |

| Bee | Listed control5 |

Filter modes, presets and the momentary footswitch
The pedal offers three filter modes: ramp, LFO, and random pattern. Beetronics says these let you "sweep like a wah, pulse like a synth," or run glitchy, reactive modulation1. The ramp mode behaves like a classic envelope-style sweep, the LFO mode pulses continuously, and the random mode generates unexpected filter movement.
The random filter mode is deeper than it first appears. It "generates over 65,000 unique modulation sequences," and you can scroll through them and save your favorites into any of the five onboard preset slots6. That turns the random mode from a novelty into a library of modulation patterns you can curate and recall.
The performance side is handled by a momentary footswitch, which Beetronics says "lets you ramp, retrigger, and perform modulation live, adding dynamic feel to your playing"1. Rather than stepping through settings, you hold the switch to ramp the filter or retrigger a sequence in time with your playing. The pedal also includes tap tempo, CV control, external tap and an expression out3.
The Sweet Sting and other limited editions
The Sweet Sting is one of many limited runs of the Zzombee Filtremulator. Beetronics has released limited editions including the Taffy, the DARK, the Sunbeeam, the Zzomblue and the Apparittion, alongside numbered Custom Shop units such as the Custom Shop 420, the Blackbee Edition and the Limited Edition Apparittion768.
Nearly all of these editions, including the Sweet Sting, the Taffy, the DARK, the Zzomblue and the Apparittion, are listed as sold out at the maker's store as of October 202613. Beetronics has continued listing new numbered Custom Shop units as they are painted, so the edition names change even though the circuit stays the same.
The Sweet Sting is sold out, and Beetronics does not include a power supply with the pedal. You will need your own 9V DC center-negative supply, the standard arrangement on most pedalboards13.
What reviewers said
MusicRadar reviewed the Zzombee Filtremulator and listed its origin as the USA5. Guitar World's launch coverage framed it as a combination of four gain stages and three modulated filter modes in one analog box2, and Delicious Audio highlighted its breadth, from filter and wah through to fuzz, low octave and the cross-tremolo9.

Questions
Is the Zzombee Sweet Sting still available?
No. Beetronics lists the Sweet Sting limited edition as sold out. The standard Zzombee Filtremulator and other limited and Custom Shop editions have also sold out through the maker's store, though Beetronics has continued releasing new hand-painted Custom Shop units in small numbers.
How many presets does the Zzombee save?
The Zzombee Filtremulator has onboard memory for up to 5 presets. In the random filter mode it generates over 65,000 unique modulation sequences, and you can scroll through them and save your favorites into any of the five preset slots.
What power supply does the Beetronics Zzombee need?
It runs on a 9V DC center-negative power supply, the standard pedalboard arrangement. No power supply is included with the pedal, so you need to supply your own. A standard 9V center-negative pedalboard supply is what Beetronics specifies.
Is the Zzombee Filtremulator true bypass?
Yes. Beetronics states the pedal is fully true bypass when not engaged, so with the effect off your signal passes through without buffering or coloring.
Where is the Beetronics Zzombee made?
MusicRadar lists the Zzombee Filtremulator's origin as the USA. Beetronics is a boutique maker whose Custom Shop pedals are hand painted, with each unit unique and carrying its own scars and character.
