The Berry Pedals Double Doom Fuzz is a dual-channel fuzz pedal from the Australian builder Berry Pedals. As the name suggests, it is a variant of the company's Doom Fuzz: instead of one fuzz circuit, it carries two, with the right side wired directly into the left. Each side can be run on its own as a standalone fuzz, or both can be switched on together so that one fuzz feeds the other1.
Two fuzzes, separately or stacked
The core design is one fuzz running into another. Both circuits can be run independently or together, which is what sets the Double Doom apart from the single-channel Doom Fuzz it is based on1.
Because the right side runs into the left, the two channels behave differently when used together1:
- Right side on with both engaged: acts as a gain boost, pushing the left fuzz harder1.
- Left side on with both engaged: acts as a volume boost1.
The builder put the stacked sound in strong terms: "When using it as a gain boost it gets into this insane fuzzed-out-crazy-ass-synth sound and I LOVE IT." Paolo De Gregorio, Delicious Audio1
Beyond simply stacking the two, the pedal offers tonal variety in how you combine them. Using the low-volume cleaner tone of one side, plus the two fuzzes stacked, gives three different tonal options, in the builder's description1.
The Doom switch
Each channel has a two-way toggle that delivers a slightly different character between the two positions1:
| Toggle position | Character |
|---|---|
| Doom | Brighter |
| Doom + | Dark |
With two channels each carrying this toggle, a player can set one side bright and the other dark, or use the two positions to shape how the stacked fuzzes interact1.
How it compares to the single Doom Fuzz and other dual fuzzes
The Double Doom Fuzz is a dual-channel version of the Berry Pedals Doom Fuzz, built by feeding a fuzz into another fuzz1. The idea of two Doom-style fuzzes in one box, separately footswitchable and placeable anywhere in a signal chain, also appears on other builders' take on the format: the FuzzHugger Double Doom is a 2-in-1 version of the FuzzHugger Doom Bloom, with two separately footswitchable circuits, each with their own in and out jacks23. The Berry Pedals version differs in that its two channels are hard-wired in series, right into left, rather than independently jacked.

Questions
Can the two sides of the Double Doom Fuzz be used separately?
Yes. The Double Doom Fuzz is one fuzz circuit running directly into another, and Berry Pedals designed both sides to be run independently or together. That means you can use either side on its own as a standalone fuzz, or switch both on to feed one into the other for a thicker, more aggressive stacked fuzz voice.
What happens when both channels of the Double Doom Fuzz are on?
The right side of the pedal runs into the left side. With both engaged, the right channel acts as a gain boost pushing the left channel, while the left side works as a volume boost. The builder described the stacked result as an insane fuzzed-out-crazy-ass-synth sound, and noted that using the low-volume cleaner tone of one side plus the two stacked fuzzes gives three different tonal options.
What does the Doom switch do?
Each channel of the Double Doom Fuzz has a two-way toggle that delivers a slightly different character. The Doom setting sounds brighter, while the Doom + setting is dark. Between the two channels you can therefore set one side bright and the other dark, or match them.
How is the Double Doom Fuzz different from the Berry Pedals Doom Fuzz?
The Double Doom Fuzz is a dual-channel version of the company's Doom Fuzz. Where the original is a single fuzz, the Double Doom carries two of them, each with its own footswitch and toggle, and wires the right side into the left so the two can be stacked as a gain boost into a volume boost.
