The Bleak District Electric Sun? Never Double T Preamp is a two-channel preamp and dual-drive overdrive and distortion pedal, released in February 2025. It expands the maker's single-sided Sun? No Model T Preamp into a double-width unit: two channels, each with Reissue-level gain saturation, its own Volume, Gain and Tone controls, an MVC (Modern/Vintage/Custom) EQ and an independent footswitch1. For players, that means two switchable gain stages of the same circuit on one pedal, covering everything from a lighter push to a fuller drive, with a place among the wider field of preamp pedals and overdrive pedals.

Circuit and sound

The Sun? Never uses the same circuit as the previous Sun? No: cascading opamp and JFET gain stages, a topology that Guitar Pedal X says provides a wide range of Volume and Gain1. Both channels carry the Reissue level of gain saturation, and the Sun? Never adds an extra Custom EQ Mode that the original did not have1.

Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson described the sound in his February 2025 write-up1:

"It sound wonderfully richly textured and imposing."

He went on to call it one of the strongest examples of its type1:

"I really like the Model T sound - and this is for sure one of the very best of that genre1!"

How it differs from the Sun? No

The Sun? Never is a direct expansion of the Sun? No rather than a redesign. Guitar Pedal X described it as Phil, the maker, doubling down on the Sun? No Model T Preamp to create the more expansive Sun? Never Edition1. The circuit is unchanged; what is new is the second channel and the added Custom EQ Mode on both sides1.

Price and availability

At launch, Guitar Pedal X listed the Sun? Never Double T Preamp at £195 (c$249), calling the price very fair, and noted it is available direct from the Bleak District Electric webstore1.

At the time of the February 2025 release there were no new demos of the Sun? Never yet. Guitar Pedal X instead referenced demos of the original single-pedal Sun? No edition, which uses the same circuit1.
