The Broughton Audio Azure Drive 10th is a bass overdrive pedal inspired by the original Blueberry Bass Overdrive from the early 2000s. The 10th Anniversary edition takes that same circuit and adds a clean parallel channel, so you can mix your original clean tone back in under the drive. Broughton Audio describes the sound as clean, clear lows, biting mids and singing highs, and says the Azure Drive has been a favorite of bass players.1

As of 26 October 2026 the pedal carries a list price of US$190.00 on the maker's site.1

Controls

The Azure Drive 10th keeps its control layout simple: one gain control, one tone control and two volume knobs1.

ControlWhat it does
SensitivityChanges the range of the gain available, as well as the tonality of the drive. At a low setting the drive is subtle and warm; at a high setting it is bright and aggressive.
ToneA boost/cut of the treble frequencies.
Clean and drive volume knobsIndependently control their respective volume levels. The signals are phase coherent.

The two volume knobs are the heart of the clean blend idea: because the clean and drive signals are phase coherent, you can set them independently and blend them without fighting phase cancellation between the two paths.1

Power and bypass

The pedal requires a 9V DC power supply, which is not included. The DC supply should be a standard Boss style connector with center negative polarity, and the current draw is 4 mA.1

No power adapter comes with the pedal, so plan to use your own 9V DC center negative supply.

The Azure Drive has a true bypass switch, so the drive circuit is fully out of the signal path when the pedal is off.1

Size and warranty

Broughton Audio lists the enclosure at 4.77" long by 2.6" wide, a standard compact footprint for a pedalboard. Products are covered for one year to the original owner.1

Where it sits in the Broughton range
