David Ross Musical Instruments Spellbook

The David Ross Musical Instruments Spellbook is a self-oscillating fuzz and distortion pedal, a design that can push itself into sustained oscillation on top of its fuzz and distortion tones. It was released in 2023 and was the maker's first Kickstarter campaign, selling direct from the David Ross Musical Instruments webstore for $200 as of January 2024¹. It sits in the wider field of fuzz pedals, alongside distortion pedals and overdrive pedals.

The Spellbook shares a maker with the Submersion Octave Fuzz. The Spellbook, a self-oscillating fuzz/distortion, was the maker's first Kickstarter campaign and came out in 2023, and is available direct from the David Ross Musical Instruments webstore for $200¹. Writing on Guitar Pedal X, Stefan Karlsson grouped the two pedals together as recent releases from the same builder, noting that "both came out last year" in reference to the Spellbook and another pedal in the maker's range¹.
