The Decibelics Reverend V2 Mini Expandora with Remote Fuzz Switch is a compact drive and fuzz pedal from Decibelics The Reverend maker Decibelics, built around the Bixonic Expandora circuit. It covers four voicings in one small box, from crunch through overdrive and distortion up to a fuzz mode, and adds two internal DIP switches and a remote switch that lets you bring the fuzz voicing in separately from the main mode knob1.
What it does
The pedal's controls are Gain, Level, Tone and a four-position Mode knob: I Crunch, II Overdrive, III Distortion and F Forbidden Fuzz. Two DIP switches inside set the clipping and low end: Dip 1 chooses between stock silicon and LED clipping, and Dip 2 switches a bass boost on or off. A remote switch and cable are included, so the F Forbidden Fuzz mode can be activated on its own, apart from the mode knob1.
That combination is what reviewer Stefan Karlsson of Guitar Pedal X singled out when he named it among the best new fuzz pedals of 20241:
"The ultimate Expandora as far as I'm concerned - with the LED and Bass Boost options taking it a step above"
For a player, the layout means the mode knob works like a four-way drive selector, while the remote switch turns the pedal into a two-channel setup: a drive voicing under your foot on the main switch, and the fuzz voicing a second footswitch away. The DIP switches shape the character underneath, with LED clipping as an alternative to the stock silicon diodes and the bass boost for thicker low end1.
Price and availability
At the time of the December 2024 review, the pedal was listed at $190 plus $49 for the remote switch and cable, or €175 plus €45 in Europe1. It sits in the wider field of Fuzz Pedals, and its overdrive and distortion voicings overlap with what dedicated Overdrive Pedals and Distortion Pedals do, compressed into one mini enclosure.
