The Doc Music Station Dark Blue Distortion is a distortion pedal from Doc Music Station, a builder whose other documented pedals include the Blackie Distortion, the Doc'stortion, the Vintage Drive and Lucy's Drive 2. Pedal of the Day filed it under the combined Overdrive / Distortion category, meaning it sits in the territory shared by overdrive pedals and distortion pedals: circuits that push a signal into clipping, from a mild push to harder saturation1.
What it does
The published record on this pedal is thin. Pedal of the Day covered it on September 19, 2014, in a video review submitted by Kyle, who wrote: "We've got another VIDEO review for you today: The Doc Music Station Dark Blue Distortion!"1. The review's video format means the audible impression of the pedal lives in the demo itself rather than in written detail.
