The Dr. No Eindhoven Rock City Limited Edition is an overdrive pedal built in a run of just five units, sold from the maker's own archive. Dr. No describes it as "a nice all-round quality overdrive" housed in a heavy duty enclosure, and offered it through the Analog Imaginarium, the corner of its webshop reserved for collectors of rarities1.
An overdrive pedal in a hand-cast housing
What sets the Eindhoven Rock City apart from a standard production overdrive is the enclosure. Dr. No describes the pedal as an "Eindhoven Rockcity die cast aluminium pedal," with the housing cast in a sand mold and finished entirely by hand: "Casted in a sand mold" and "100% handmade," in the maker's words1. The maker leans into the visual character too, saying the pedal looks like it is "coming straight form a marvel comic… Just if it was an item on batman's tool belt. It has the looks!"1.
Availability and price
The pedal was listed at € 1,750.00 EUR on the Dr. No webshop1. It was not a regular catalog product: Dr. No states it came "straight from the archive" and was "made available in Dr. No's Analog Imaginarium, for the true collector of rarities"1. The listed unit, numbered No. 01/05, is marked sold, with the listing reading "NO#01/05 (Sorry, this item is sold)"1.
This was a limited edition of five units, and the one listed is sold. Dr. No positions pedals like this in the Analog Imaginarium for collectors, so it is not part of the maker's standard range.
In the box
Each of the five pedals shipped with:
- a custom made silkscreened wooden box
- a numbered certificate1
The certificate matters on a run this small: with only five units made, the number identifies exactly which pedal of the five an owner has1.
