The Le Guess Who festival fuzz is a limited edition fuzz pedal built by Dr. No effects in 2014 as a promotional project for the Le Guess Who festival. Rather than a standard catalog pedal, it was a commissioned run: the festival asked Dr. No to create ten fuzzes as a limited edition to promote the event1.
What it does
The pedal is a fuzz, the saturated, sustaining distortion style that Dr. No effects is best known for across its lineup, which also includes pedals like the SkullFuzz, Turd Fuzz and Ford Falcon Fuzz Black. Dr. No described the commission plainly: "The Assignment was to create ten Fuzzes as a limited edition to promote the festival."1
Because the run was built for the festival rather than for regular sale, it stands apart from the maker's standard products. No specifications, controls or pricing for the pedal were published alongside the announcement1.
The artwork
The ten pedals carried custom artwork produced as a collaboration. Dr. No worked with designer Loud Mouth and with band merchandise supplier and artist Paul Smits at Blendomatic on the project1.
