The 3K Fresh Fuzz is a fuzz pedal from Farmer Factory, a maker whose fuzzes have drawn attention for their construction. Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson, reviewing the year's new fuzz pedals, described it as "fantastic opamp based fuzz - which operates mostly in fuzzy-drive territory", meaning it sits closer to a driven, saturated fuzz than a full-on splatter, and it can shade toward overdrive and distortion behavior depending on how it is set1.
Controls
The pedal carries three knobs1:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Gain | Sets the amount of fuzz drive |
| Bite | Shapes the attack character |
| Filter | Tones the fuzz response |
Build and reception
Karlsson's review singled out the pedal's internals: "it has the best looking circuit / insides of any pedal this year". The turret-style circuitboard is the reason, a construction approach more often seen on hand-built amplifiers than on pedals1.
Farmer Factory has since built out its fuzz line in the same hand-built spirit, including the Farmer Factory Harmonic Generator and the Farmer Factory Colombeta Fuzz, a two-stage germanium/silicon transistor-switching fuzz1.
