Versions and the Brian May connection

Foxx did not build the Foot Phaser as a single fixed design. The PastFx manual states that "Foxx released several versions of the foot phaser with different number of phase stages and circuit design," meaning the number of phase stages, the building blocks that determine how deep and how colored the phasing is, changed from version to version².

Of those versions, it is the first that carries the strongest association. PastFx states plainly that "it is Version 1's design that is most synonymous with Brian May"³. For a player tracing the sound of that era of phasing, the V1 is the reference point among the Foxx treadle phasers.
