Fromel Electronics Fromel Shape EQ

The Fromel Electronics Shape EQ is a 3-band parametric equalizer pedal designed specifically for guitar players. Fromel describes it as "a simple to use 3-band parametric equalizer," and the four knobs and two switches open up what the maker calls "a vast array of tonal tweaks."¹ It belongs to the equalizer family of effects, a category covered on the Equalization Pedals page.

Controls and design

The Shape EQ keeps its front panel to four knobs and two switches. A parametric equalizer differs from a simple tone stack in that it lets a player dial in specific frequency bands and adjust them, which is what the three bands plus the switching are there for. Fromel notes that knob colors vary between units, so two pedals off the line may not look identical.¹

B-Stock units

Fromel lists the B-Stock Shape EQ at £129.00 GBP, against £152.00 GBP for a standard unit.¹² The defects are cosmetic, from the enclosure manufacturer, and are shown in photos on the listing, so a player comfortable with surface marks can get the same pedal for less.¹
