The Hangman fx Atomic World Ender is a multi-mode fuzz pedal with a second channel bolted on: a Chopper/Drone circuit that slices the fuzz signal with an LFO or produces a continuous drone hum you can tune to your key. Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson called it "an incredibly lively and visceral multi-mode Fuzz with exceptional complementary Chopper and Drone effects"1.
The fuzz side is built around a 3 x 3 arrangement: three fuzz modes (Octave, Gated and Non-Gated Raw Fuzz), three clipping options (LED, none, MOSFET) and three EQ voices (high, low, mid), which Delicious Audio noted gives 27 tonal combinations2. It was first reported in November 2024 and carries a $240 webstore price32.
The fuzz side: three modes, three clipping options, three voices
The three fuzz modes cover the main fuzz flavors. Octave adds an octave-up character, Gated produces a sputtering, gated fuzz, and Non-Gated is the raw, always-on fuzz voice23. On top of that sit two three-position toggles: Clipping (LED / none / MOSFET) and EQ Voice (high / low / mid)2.
The clipping choices change both feel and level. Karlsson found that none is the loudest, LED is slightly softer and quieter, and MOSFET is softer still, with a fairly significant volume drop compared to none1.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Output | Sets level; can get incredibly loud, rarely needed past about 9 o'clock1 |
| Tone | Shapes the fuzz's tonal balance |
| Gain | Sets the fuzz drive amount |
| Voice / EQ Focus | Hi / Low / Mids EQ voice toggle2 |
| Clipping | LED / none / MOSFET toggle2 |
| Fuzz Mode | Octave / Gated / Non-Gated toggle2 |
One detail that sets the pedal apart visually: the domed white LED lens cap on the fuzz side contains historic fragments in suspension. Karlsson's units held fragments from a medieval suit of armor, while earlier editions contained dinosaur bone fragments or tiny shards from a meteorite1.
The Chopper and Drone side
The second channel is an LFO signal chopper, a sort of tremolo/stutter that gates the fuzz signal on and off, plus a drone mode that produces a continuous hum13. Its controls are Speed, Speed Fine-Tune (also called Frequency), Depth (also called Intensity) and its own footswitch1.
In drone mode, the hum can be tuned to your song's key using the Speed and Fine-Tune controls, with Depth setting the intensity2. The full span covers slightly more than an octave; in Karlsson's example, low E sits at 9 o'clock and high E at around 3 o'clock1.
The Chopper/Drone channel cannot be engaged independently. It has to chop the fuzz signal to produce an output, so there is no way to run the chopper on a clean signal1.
Inside the pedal there are three further adjustments: a Fine-Tune Range Adjustment trimmer, a Dry Blend trimmer, and an EXT. Remote Channel option (left or right)13. Karlsson reported that the factory Fine-Tune and Dry-Blend trimmers needed no adjustment on his review units1.
Connections: expression and remote switching
The side ports are built for Hangman fx's companion micro pedals. The Expression port is for the Luma Express, a light-sensing expression and switch box, and the EXT. Remote port is for the Switch Box. The remote port can target either footswitch, chosen with an internal dip-switch41.
Where it came from and what it costs
Delicious Audio first reported the Atomic World Ender in November 2024 as a new octave-up fuzz with a tremolo drone feature2. In May 2025, Guitar Pedal X reported that it, along with the Lord GermFet dual overdrive, Luma Express and Switch Box EXT., had landed in the Hangman fx webstore3. The webstore price is $2403, and in Guitar Pedal X's 2025 best-of-fuzz roundup the pedal earned a Silver award4.
Guitar Pedal X also places it in a small family of similar designs: a cousin to Rainger FX's Chop Fuzzz, and a more distant cousin to the Chase Bliss / Abracadabra Audio Ayuhuasca and the Stone Deaf FX Rise and Shine1.
The Hangman fx webstore mostly only works for buyers based in North America. Overseas buyers need to contact Paul at Hangman fx directly via Instagram1.
What reviewers said
Stefan Karlsson's review for Guitar Pedal X was strongly positive. On the fuzz side he wrote:
"this is several fuzz pedals in one - most definitely a Multi-Fuzz - and the onboard range is incredible"1
Stefan Karlsson, Guitar Pedal X1
He judged the fuzz "really richly detailed and properly versatile", calling it "one of the most full-featured Fuzzes out there"4, and found the pedal "beautifully made inside and out - with super smart controls, particularly on the fuzz side"1. Overall he rated it "just as impressive as the Lord GermFet - in some ways even more so"1. His one practical note was that the output can get incredibly loud, and he rarely felt he needed it past about 9 o'clock1.
