The HeadRush AIR Reverb is a reverb pedal in stompbox format, made by HeadRush. Its circuit is based on the Pro Tools AIR Reverb plug-in, the studio effect that ships with Avid's Pro Tools software, so the design comes from a plug-in rather than from a vintage hardware unit1. If you are shopping the reverb category, it sits alongside other options such as the HeadRush Shimmer Reverb, and it belongs to the wider family of reverb pedals.
Where the design comes from
HeadRush states the pedal is "Based on the Pro Tools® AIR Reverb (Plug-in)"1. The same approach runs through the rest of the AIR line: the HeadRush AIR Filter, a filter pedal, is based on the Pro Tools AIR Filter plug-in2, and the AIR Vibrato, a vibrato stompbox, comes from the same maker and family3. HeadRush also lists an AIR REVERB effect model, likewise based on the Pro Tools AIR Reverb plug-in, on its Pedalboard multi-effects unit4, so the same reverb algorithm appears both as this standalone stompbox and inside the company's multi-effects platform.
