JAM Pedals "Bat Race" Ripple Bass

The JAM Pedals "Bat Race" Ripple Bass is a bass phaser from JAM Pedals, the Greek pedal maker known for hand-built effects. It is a custom-artwork version of the "Achenbach" Ripple Bass, the bass-specific take on the company's Ripple phaser. JAM Pedals describes the Ripple as an homage to 2-stage phasing, with the bass version recalibrated so the modulation's focus provides rich, wet textures for the bass frequency range¹.

What it does

The Ripple Bass is a phaser built for bass. Phasing is a modulation effect that sweeps notches through the signal, and JAM Pedals says the bass version of the Ripple is recalibrated so the modulation's focus provides rich, wet textures for the bass frequency range rather than only working on guitar mids¹. Players looking at other JAM bass modulation and drive pedals, such as the Ripply Fall Bass or the Rattler Bass, will find the Ripple Bass sits in the phaser slot of the line, covered on the site's Phaser Pedals and Bass Pedals pages.

The "Bat Race" artwork

The "Bat Race" is one of JAM Pedals' limited artwork editions. The company states that custom artwork versions share the same sound but feature different artwork, and that every limited artwork pedal is a one-of-a-kind hand-painted piece, so the pedal a buyer receives will differ in detail from the photos shown². A companion "Relic" Ripple Bass custom artwork version is also part of the line³.
