The compressor pedals from Keeley Electronics have long been a fixture on pedalboards, and the C4 Compressor is the company's four-knob take on the effect. The Arlon Prince custom finish version is the same pedal housed in an enclosure finished by hand by Arlon Prince rather than in Keeley's standard paint. The Arlon Prince custom finish version lists at $299 USD, and the finish was offered for C4 Compressors and Luna Overdrives1.
The Arlon Prince finish
Arlon Prince's cases are made entirely by hand, and Keeley is upfront about what that means in practice. Because of the hand made nature of the finish, the company notes that some units will carry minor chips and scratches. A player buying one is getting a one-of-a-kind enclosure rather than a factory-perfect surface, and Keeley presents that as part of the character of the finish rather than a defect to be returned1.
"due to the completely hand made nature of these, there will be some minor chips and scratches on some of these"
Price and availability
Keeley listed the custom finish pedals at $299, with the Luna Overdrive in the same finish at $269, as of the June 2023 announcement1. The finish was offered on both models at that time, so a player looking for the same treatment on an overdrive rather than a compressor had that option from the same shipment1.
The hand made finish means individual units can differ, and Keeley states some will have minor chips and scratches1.
