Pedal of the Day, reviewing it in March 2019, described it as "a really tasty replication of that mysterious effect" and "a wonderful Klone in all senses of the word," noting that makers like Kink Guitar Pedals "make it easy for us to get the Klon sound affordably."¹

What it does

The Femtaur follows the Klon formula closely. Its clipping comes from vintage Russian Germanium diodes, which the review says are used "to recreate that signature sound."¹

The controls are unlabeled, but they correspond directly to the Klon's layout:

As Pedal of the Day put it: "Though unlabeled, the controls are the same as on the Klon: Output, Treble and Gain, and function exactly as they should."¹

Pedal of the Day's 2019 review was favorable, calling the Femtaur "quite impressive overall" in its verdict on the pedal.¹² In a later 2020 review of another Kink pedal, the same publication recalled that "The Femtaur Boost Overdrive and Blazed Fuzz were the first two units we had the privilege to check out from Kink Guitar," placing the Femtaur among the builder's earliest releases the site covered.²
