The Death Über Alles is a signature pedal from LICHTLÆRM Audio, built with the German black metal band Mantar. The maker describes it as "a sonic sledgehammer forged to make their unapologetic sound available for YOU"1. It is a distortion and overdrive design with a pre-gain boost, so it can push an amp or another pedal harder before the dirt stage hits.
What it does
The pedal has two sides that work together. LICHTLÆRM describes the main voice as "a raunchy overdrive/distortion side that works equally well into a crunchy Marshall as it does in front of a clean pedal"1. In practice that means the pedal is aimed at players who want to drive an already breaking-up amp harder, as well as players running a clean platform who want the full Mantar-style grind from the pedal alone. The pre-gain boost feeds the dirt stage, which is where the extra push comes from.
Tone shaping comes from a "2-Band baxandall-style EQ"1. A baxandall EQ uses shelving bands at the top and bottom of the frequency range rather than a mid control. According to the maker, rolling back both bands makes the mids pop out at a musical frequency, which is a way of carving a mid-forward voice without a dedicated mid knob1.
The pedal also carries Lichtlaerm Audio Smart Relay technology, a feature the maker lists on the product page1.

Where it sits in the LICHTLÆRM range
LICHTLÆRM Audio builds a range of dirt pedals alongside the Death Über Alles, including the Medusa, the Gehenna and the Thorn. The Death Über Alles is the Mantar signature entry in that line, and its baxandall-style EQ and pre-gain boost set it apart from a straight distortion or boost pedal1.
