The LPD Pedals Cascade Reverb is a reverb pedal from the Arizona builder LPD Pedals. Delicious Audio's Paolo De Gregorio described it as "a new pedal by Arizona's LPD Pedals, the Cascade Reverb," and listed it among the "Best New Non-Gain Pedals released in June 2021"12.
What it does
The pedal keeps its control layout simple: four knobs, one of which is a pre-delay control. De Gregorio called it "a useful pre-delay knob," a control that sets a short gap between the dry note and the onset of the reverb wash1.
The pedal was announced as an upcoming release: at the time of the June 2021 coverage it had no product page on the builder's website yet, and the first public look came from a tease video posted by R.J. Ronquillo and Edge of Breakup1.
"R.J.Ronquillo and Edge of Breakup just poted this tease video of a new pedal"
Related pedals
For a later take on a similar idea, Normal Devices (a related name in Delicious Audio's coverage) offers the Decay Cascade, described as "a pedal that runs reverb into distortion," inspired by "running reverb into distortion"3. Players comparing reverb-adjacent effects may also want to look at delay pedals, where pre-delay-style controls are more common.
