The LPD Pedals One20Three is a dual channel overdrive that puts two of the company's amp-in-a-box circuits in one enclosure. It combines features of the Fifty5, a Fender Tweed-style pedal, and the Sixty8, a Plexi-style drive, so a player can cover both a cranked vintage Tweed response and a British Plexi-style drive from one unit1. RockBoard's PedalPedia describes it the same way, as "a combination of the Fifty5 and the Sixty8 standard pedals"2.

LPD Pedals is an Arizona-based builder, and amp-in-a-box overdrives are something of a specialty for the company34. The One20Three sits alongside the brand's other dual-channel designs, such as the Dutch² Dual Overdrive.

Switching and routing

Beyond the two circuits, the One20Three adds switching features that a standard two-pedal stack does not have. It includes order switching, so you can choose which circuit feeds the other, and parallel routing, so both circuits can run side by side rather than in series1.

The pedal's soft-touch true bypass switching system supports three programmable bypass modes1:

  • Independent Bypass
  • Toggle Bypass
  • Master Bypass

Both footswitches independently control each circuit, one per side1. For a player, that means the Tweed-style and Plexi-style channels can be switched on their own, toggled against each other, or handled under a master bypass, depending on which mode is programmed.

The two circuits it draws from

The Fifty5 side of the pedal comes from LPD's Tweed-voiced overdrive, which MusicRadar described as an amp-in-a-box overdrive, a format the company has made a specialty4. The Sixty8 side comes from the company's Plexi-style drive; Delicious Audio's write-up of the Sixty8 noted that its character is "very snappy and responsive, and somewhat jangly, especially as the Treble is increased," which the site found made it "great for rhythm and rhythm/lead hybrid styles"3.
