The Lunastone Dynamic Digital Delay is a delay pedal from the Danish pedal maker Lunastone, and it marked the company's first foray into digital delay. Until this pedal, the maker's designs had been analog; the Dynamic Digital Delay was its first digital circuit. Premier Guitar ran an exclusive first demo of the pedal at Summer NAMM 2018, presented by Jason Shadrick1.
What it does
As a digital delay, the pedal records the incoming guitar signal and plays it back after a set time, producing repeats of what you play. That is the basic job of any delay, and the digital approach is what set this pedal apart within Lunastone's own range: the company had built its reputation on analog designs, and this was the first time it put a digital delay circuit in a pedal1.
Because the pedal was new at Summer NAMM 2018, the published record of it at that point is the Premier Guitar demo rather than a long history of reviews. In that demo, Premier Guitar's Jason Shadrick presented the pedal as the Danish pedalmakers' first move into digital delay1.
