MAS Effects Ultimate Beginner Pedal Kit

The MAS Effects Ultimate Beginner Pedal Kit is a complete DIY fuzz pedal kit, meaning you solder it together yourself and end up with a working fuzz pedal. MAS Effects describes it as meticulously designed to be easy for beginners, with loads of support and guidance, and calls it "a complete pedal building experience."¹²

Availability and price

The kit is a limited release and is currently listed as sold out on the MAS Effects webstore.¹ The regular price is £55.00, and the product page states that tax is included in that figure.³¹

Because the kit is marked as a limited run and sold out, it is not a standing catalog product like MAS Effects' ready-built pedals such as the Sona Fuzz or StompFuzz.¹

What you get and what may vary

MAS Effects positions the kit as a first build: everything needed for a fuzz pedal, with support and guidance built in for someone who has not soldered a pedal before.³¹ The maker does flag a few things that can differ from the product photos:

Knob colors may vary
LED colors may vary
The enclosure texture may be sanded or smooth⁴

How to tell a MAS Effects DIY enclosure

If you are checking whether an enclosure came from a MAS Effects kit, the maker says most enclosures will say "MAS Effects DIY" in small font at the bottom, even if that marking is not shown in the older photos on the product page.¹

Questions

Is the MAS Effects Ultimate Beginner Pedal Kit still available?

No. MAS Effects lists the Ultimate Beginner Pedal Kit as sold out, and the product page marks it as a limited run. It is a complete fuzz pedal kit aimed at first-time builders, so if MAS Effects brings it back, it would likely appear again as a limited release rather than a permanent catalog item.

How much does the MAS Effects Ultimate Beginner Pedal Kit cost?

The kit is listed at £55.00 on the MAS Effects webstore. That is the regular price as shown on the product page, and it is given in British pounds as stated by the maker.

Is tax included in the kit's price?

Yes. The MAS Effects product page states that tax is included in the listed price, so the £55.00 shown is the full amount charged, with no tax added on top at checkout.

Will my kit's knobs and LED match the photos?

Not necessarily. MAS Effects notes that knob and LED colors may vary, as might the texture of the enclosure, which can come sanded or smooth. The maker also says most enclosures carry a small 'MAS Effects DIY' marking at the bottom even when older photos do not show it.
