The Girls Rock Overdrive is an overdrive pedal from Mojo Hand, made in collaboration with the Girls Rock organization and announced at NAMM '22. Mojo Hand describes it as a transparent overdrive based on a Blues Breaker circuit, with an added feedback loop, and it carries custom artwork designed by the girls of Girls Rock1. It sits in the same family as other overdrive pedals, and Mojo Hand's own range includes other drives such as the Mojo Hand Sacred Cow.
What it does
The pedal follows the Blues Breaker approach, which Mojo Hand describes as a transparent overdrive, meaning the circuit is intended to push the amp with a light touch rather than color the tone heavily. On top of that base circuit, Mojo Hand added a feedback loop1.
It uses what Delicious Audio's Griffin Jennings called "the classic three-knob Tone, Gain, Volume layout"1, so a player sets the amount of drive with Gain, shapes the top end with Tone, and sets level with Volume.
The Girls Rock collaboration and artwork
The pedal was made in collaboration with the Girls Rock organization, and the limited edition carries custom artwork designed by the girls of Girls Rock1. It was announced as new at NAMM '221.
