The Montreal Assembly your and you're pedal base is a fuzz pedal, described by the maker as "the base fuzz" of the Your and You're design1. It sits in the fuzz family alongside other Fuzz Pedals, and it is the simpler version of the circuit in the full Montreal Assembly Your and You're.
What it does
The circuit is inspired by the "crash sync" circuit by John Hollis, but Montreal Assembly rebuilt it from the ground up to more easily accept CV or expression pedal control2. That means the pedal can be swept by an Expression Pedals or a control voltage rather than only by its onboard controls, which is what sets the Your and You're design apart from a standard fuzz.
Versions and colors
The pedal base has been offered in a wide range of finishes, several of them listed as blem units (cosmetic seconds) or with mismatched backplates1:
- blue blem with mismatched backplate
- white blem
- green, and green blem
- pink, pink blem, and mismatched pink
- hot pink blem
- telemagenta, and telemagenta blem
- mismatched green1
The listed price of $80.00 USD is lower than the $90.00 USD launch price shown on the maker's page1. Blem and mismatched-backplate finishes are among the options listed, so the current price may reflect those cosmetic-second units.
