The A Little More! is a boost pedal from Monty's Guitars, launched in October 2021 as one of two new boosts from the company. It is, in effect, half of the company's larger More! pedal: Guitar.com described it as consisting of "just one side of the More! in a smaller enclosure, utilising just one of the 15dB JFET gain stages".1
What it does
The pedal is a clean-style boost built around JFET transistors. Guitar.com reported that both of the new Monty's boosts "make use of JFET transistors for a lively, characterful feel reminiscent of the front end of a tube amplifier", which is the character the A Little More! carries in its single gain stage.1
For a player, that places it among the boosts and light gain pedals that push an amp rather than reshape the signal: it sits apart from overdrive pedals, distortion pedals and fuzz pedals, which clip the signal more heavily1.
Where it came from
Monty's Guitars launched the A Little More! and the More! together, both designed in collaboration with Steve Crow of Audio Kitchen. The A Little More! carried a UK list price of £120.1
The A Little More! is the single-channel version of the More!: one 15dB JFET gain stage in a smaller enclosure. Players who want two of those stages in one box are looking at the More! instead.1
