The Morley Immortals Series George Lynch Dragon 2 Wah is a limited-edition reissue of George Lynch's famed signature Morley wah, made by Morley and announced in May 2022. It is a switchless, electro-optical wah pedal with a built-in boost, a parked-wah lock and a WoW mode, and it was sold exclusively through Pitbull Audio in limited quantities.12
What it is and where it came from
Morley describes the pedal as a reissue of George's famed signature Morley wah, brought back as part of the Immortals Series. The original Dragon 2 design remains available separately as the Morley George Lynch Dragon 2, and Morley has also made a Morley George Lynch Mini Dragon 2 Wah.1
The reissue was announced in May 2022, when Morley said it was available exclusively at Pitbull Audio in limited quantities. Because it is a limited edition, it is not part of Morley's general catalog the way the Morley Bad Horsie 2 or the Morley Classic Wah are.2

How it works
The Dragon 2 Wah uses Morley's electro-optical design, which Morley says means there are no pots to wear out. Morley converted its classic wah circuits to modern optics in a 1992 redesign, which also introduced the switchless activation this pedal uses. Pedal of the Day describes that redesign as having "introduced Switchless Activation and converted their classic Wah circuits to use modern optics."3
Switchless operation means there is no bypass switch to stomp: Morley says you simply step on the treadle to engage the wah and step off to bypass. The pedal also carries a premium Morley buffer circuit, which Morley says protects your tone from mischief in your signal chain.1
Controls
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Loudness | Gives up to 15 decibels of boost1 |
| Wah Lock | Engages the Optical Lock filter, emulating a parked wah1 |
| Slice | Controls the parked wah sweep1 |
| WoW mode | Shifts the envelope of the wah for a deep vocal wah tone1 |
The wah sweep itself is, in Morley's words, "carefully tweaked to George's preferred settings."1
The Wah Lock and Slice knob work together: the lock holds a parked wah tone, and the Slice knob sets where that parked sweep sits. The Loudness boost can be used to push a solo forward, making this a wah and boost in one enclosure.1
Lynch Bucks
A select few of these pedals contain a special Lynch Bucks, each with a unique prize, according to Morley. It is a lottery-style extra tied to this limited reissue rather than a standard feature of the pedal.1

Questions
Does the George Lynch Dragon 2 Wah have a bypass switch?
No. Morley describes it as switchless: you simply step on the treadle to engage the wah and step off to bypass it. This comes from Morley's switchless design approach, which the company introduced in a 1992 redesign of its classic wah circuits, doing away with a footswitch in favor of treadle position.
What does the Wah Lock do?
The Wah Lock engages the Optical Lock filter, which emulates a parked wah. A parked wah holds the filter at one fixed point in the sweep instead of moving it with the treadle, so you can set a vocal, mid-focused tone and leave it there while you play.
How much boost does the Loudness control give?
According to Morley, the Loudness control gives up to 15 decibels of boost. That makes the pedal a wah and boost in one, useful for pushing a solo or an amp into a hotter input signal without a separate boost pedal on the board.
Is the Dragon 2 Wah a potentiometer or optical design?
It is optical. Morley describes the pedal as using its famous Electro-Optical design with no pots to wear out. Morley converted its classic wah circuits to modern optics in a 1992 redesign, which also introduced the switchless activation this pedal uses.
Where can the Dragon 2 Wah be bought?
Morley announced the pedal in May 2022 as available exclusively at Pitbull Audio in limited quantities. It is a limited-edition reissue, so availability depends on what Pitbull Audio has in stock rather than general retail distribution.
What are Lynch Bucks?
Lynch Bucks are a prize inserted into a select few of these pedals. According to Morley, a select few pedals contain a Special Lynch Bucks, each with a unique prize. If you buy one of the limited reissues, it is worth checking whether yours includes one.
