The Mythos Wildwood Mjolnir is an overdrive pedal made by Mythos Pedals in collaboration with Wildwood Guitars, and it is a revamped version of the original Mythos Mjolnir Overdrive. Where the standard Mjolnir is a "K" style drive with its own set of changes, the Wildwood Edition is Mythos' attempt to get as close as possible to one specific reference: Zach Broyles' personal silver Klon Centaur1.
What it is and what it does
Mythos describes the Wildwood Edition Mjolnir Overdrive as "our attempt to perfectly replicate Zach's personal silver 'Centaur'". The company says that when the Wildwood Mjolnir was released it was an attempt to make the best "Klone" possible, and that after getting a real unit the team learned so much sonically that it revised the design1. RockBoard's PedalPedia entry, drawn from the maker's own text, says the design was revised "to closer emulate the tones that were in that fabled silver box"3.
Guitar.com, covering the 2018 launch, summed up the pedal's role this way:
"the Wildwood edition is a modern-day Klon Centaur that you can use as a clean boost or as a smooth, slightly mid-boosted overdrive"
That puts it in the same family of uses as the original KLON Centaur: light gain for pushing an amp, or more drive with a mid-forward character. For a wider view of where a drive like this sits, see the site's Overdrive Pedals page.
How it differs from the original Mjolnir
The Wildwood Edition is not simply a rebrand. Guitar.com reported that, compared to the original, it promises less noise, and that it is housed in a larger and more Klon-like enclosure2. Mythos itself says the normal Mjolnir model already has "a lot of changes from your average 'klone'", but that "the Wildwood Mjolnir is the best sonic repre[sentation]" of the reference pedal in the range1.
The Wildwood Edition is a store exclusive. Guitar.com reported at launch that "The Mjolnir is available only at Wildwood Guitars", at a price of $2492. It is a different product from the standard Mjolnir sold through Mythos' regular channels.
Versions and revisions
The pedal has been through one major revision since launch:
- 2018: First release, built with Wildwood Guitars. Guitar.com quoted Mythos calling it "kinda a reissue of the first Mjolnirs ever made"2.
- 2023: Mythos went "back to the drawing board" with the Wildwood Mjolnir to get it even closer to Zach's personal Klon Centaur, and to improve production13.
The standard Mjolnir line has its own running changes: on the current Mjolnir, Mythos has removed the charge pump to make the pedal more resilient and less likely to be damaged by incorrect power, and the latest version has a slight reduction in treble and low-mids so that it is more "transparent" with the gain set low and more natural with the Tone control at noon4. Those notes apply to the standard Mjolnir Overdrive, not the Wildwood Edition, but they show how the two models have developed along separate paths.

Questions
Where can I buy the Mythos Mjolnir Wildwood Edition?
The Wildwood Edition Mjolnir is available only at Wildwood Guitars, the Colorado store that collaborated with Mythos Pedals on the design. That exclusivity has been a condition of the pedal since its 2018 release, when Guitar.com reported a price of $249. Players outside the United States will need to order through Wildwood Guitars rather than a local dealer, since the pedal does not appear in the regular Mythos dealer network.
How is the Wildwood Edition different from the original Mjolnir?
Guitar.com described the Wildwood Edition as a revamped version of the original Mjolnir, promising less noise compared to the original and housed in a larger, more Klon-like enclosure. Mythos says the normal Mjolnir already has a lot of changes from your average klone, but the Wildwood Mjolnir is the maker's closest sonic representation of Zach Broyles' personal silver Klon Centaur. The Wildwood Edition was also revised in 2023.
Who designed the Mythos Mjolnir?
The Mjolnir was designed by Zach Broyles of Mythos Pedals. The Wildwood Edition was developed in collaboration with Wildwood Guitars and is built around Broyles' own silver Klon Centaur, which Mythos used as the reference when revising the design. Broyles remains the designer named in connection with the circuit, according to Guitar.com's 2018 report on the pedal's launch.
Is the Mjolnir Wildwood Edition a Klon Centaur clone?
It is a Klon-inspired overdrive rather than a straight clone. Mythos describes the Wildwood Mjolnir as its attempt to perfectly replicate Zach Broyles' personal silver Klon Centaur, and Guitar.com called it a modern-day Klon Centaur that works as a clean boost or a smooth, slightly mid-boosted overdrive. The standard Mjolnir already departs from a typical klone circuit, and the Wildwood Edition pushes closer to the original pedal's tones.
