The Mini Core Space, usually just called Space, is a compact reverb pedal from Nux. Paolo De Gregorio of Delicious Audio described it as "A super affordable one knob reverb by Chinese builder Nux, called Space."1 It is built around a single control, which makes it a straightforward choice for a player who wants reverb on a board without menus, secondary functions or a deep learning curve.
What it does
The pedal carries one knob, labeled Mix. According to Delicious Audio, "The knob controls the mix of long reverb, while an early reflection reverb is applied all the time when the pedal is engaged."1 In practice, that means turning the pedal on always adds a short early reflection reverb, the kind of quick, room-like bounce that gives a dry signal some sense of space, and the Mix knob then blends in a longer reverb tail on top of it.
Where it sits in Nux's reverb range
Nux has built out a wider line of reverb pedals since the Space appeared. The NuX Damp is a stereo mini reverb with Plate, Spring and Hall modes, and the Nux Verb Core Deluxe offers eight reverb types with a Tweak knob, stereo connectivity and a Freeze function. The NUX Oceanic rounds out the range. Compared with those, the Mini Core Space is the simplest of the bunch: one knob, one job.
