The Ogre Kronomaster Delay is a digital delay pedal from Ogre, a maker of delay and overdrive pedals. It carries an MSRP of $299.99, the same price as the other new Ogre pedals1.
What it does
The pedal gives a player three controls: Time, Wet/Dry Mix and Feedback1. Time sets the length of the repeats, the Wet/Dry Mix blends the delayed signal against the dry one, and Feedback sets how many times the repeats come around. Reviewer Barry Rudolph wrote that "you can get any delay sound from tight doubling to long musical slaps"1, so the pedal covers both short, subtle doubling effects and longer, more audible delay lines. For more on how this effect type works, see Delay Pedals.
Design
The Kronomaster Delay's most distinctive feature is its enclosure. Along with the Ogre Tubeholic Overdrive, it is built as an alien head sculpted in die-cast aluminum, fitted with retractable frontal lobes that flip back to expose the controls1. The metal housing is heavier and more rigid than the pressed-steel cases common on pedals, and the flip-back lobes mean the controls are hidden until opened.
