Glossary
wet/dry
Wet/dry refers to the balance between the unprocessed dry signal and the processed wet signal in an effects pedal or rig1. On many pedals, a mix or blend knob adjusts this wet/dry balance, as on delay, reverb, chorus, flanger, and octave pedals23456. Wet/dry also describes a rig setup in which dry effects run in front of the amplifier preamp while wet effects such as delay and reverb are fed by a line out box and wired into a parallel mixer1. Such wet/dry systems require a line-out box and a parallel mixer for the wet effects1. Sources also use the term to describe the character of an overdrive sound, as in the wet/dry overdrive of the JAM Pedals Lucydreamer7.
