Ohmless Pedals Yara2

The Ohmless Pedals Yara2 is an optical compressor, a type of compressor that uses a light-based element to control the gain, and it is the second version of the company's low noise optical compressor, the Yara. As a compressor, it sits in the same family of dynamics pedals covered on the Compressor Pedals page.¹

What changed from the first Yara

The Yara2 keeps the core circuit of the original but changes the hardware around it in three ways¹:

• Release and Blend controls: the new iteration adds Release and Blend controls, giving the player more say over how quickly the compression lets go and how much of the dry signal is mixed back in.¹
• Top mounted jacks: the pedal switches to top mounted jacks, including power, which helps it fit more easily on a crowded pedalboard.¹
• Soft Switch footswitch: it uses a Soft Switch for the footswitch rather than a conventional mechanical stomp switch.¹
