The TORNADO Drive Brass is an overdrive pedal from One Control, produced under the TORNADO Fx brand line with the production of One Control (Japan). It is a brass-enclosed version of the TORNADO Drive Aluminum, which One Control describes as very similar but with some special differences1. As of October 2026, the maker's product page lists it as sold out2.
Controls and trim pots
The front panel carries five knobs, each with a specific job in shaping the drive1:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Drive | Adjusts the intensity of the distortion |
| Tone | Adjusts the tone |
| Level | Adjusts the volume |
| High Treble | Fine-tunes the edge of the top end of the tone and the balance of the entire tone |
| 2K | Fine-tuning the sound around the mid-range |
Beyond the knobs, the pedal carries two internal trim pots. One Control says these "can fine-tune the differences in acoustic characteristics depending on the gig, whether at the venue" or a recording studio2. Delicious Audio's Paolo De Gregorio, writing in September 2022, noted the enclosure "is cut from solid brass and features two trim pots" for that same purpose3.
Design and sound
One Control describes the TORNADO Drive as "an overdrive pedal designed and manufactured under the supervision of TK," with "adjustments were made with both BJF and TK based on the sound and feel of the pedal onstage"2. The maker characterizes the tone as "thick and three-dimensional, and also can be delicate and refined"2. De Gregorio's 2022 write-up said the pedal was tailored to TK's equipment and desired tone, and that "the thick tone is three-dimensional and can go from a whisper to a scream with just the playing dynamics"3.
Power, connections and dimensions
The pedal's electrical demands are modest: One Control lists current consumption at 3.5mA, input impedance at 200kΩ and output impedance at 10KΩ2. Dimensions are 80W x 120D x 30H mm excluding protrusions, and 85W x 120D x 44H mm including them2. The pedal ships with a decorated box and logo drawstring2.
Price note
One Control's page shows a regular price of $729.99 USD alongside a crossed-out figure of $912.99 USD2. The two figures appear on the same page and the maker does not explain the difference between them.
