The Origin Effects RevivalDRIVE Switcher Interface is a small accessory box that sits between a remote switching system and a RevivalDRIVE pedal. It lets a controller such as the GigRig G2 or Boss ES-8 remotely toggle the pedal's Active Channel, Bypass state, Mid engage and Blend override functions, replacing the pedal's own footswitches with programmatic switching from a larger rig1.

Connections A, B and E

The interface presents three labeled connections, each with a distinct job. Connection A switches the bypass state via the tip connection and the channel via the ring connection. Connection B switches the mid engage function via the tip and the blend override via the ring. Connection E is the link to the pedal itself: it connects to the RevivalDRIVE's F/SWITCH jack socket using a standard TRS cable2.

In practice, a player with a switching system wires each switching output to connection A or B depending on which pedal function they want that switch to command, then runs one TRS cable from connection E to the pedal. The interface translates those switch signals into the same actions the pedal's own footswitches perform21.

Power

The Switcher Interface runs on a 9V DC 2.1 mm center-negative power supply, the same polarity convention as most pedals1. Connection C takes the supply, and connection D daisy-chains that power on to the RevivalDRIVE, so a single supply feeds both the interface and the pedal2.

The maker's product page lists the price as £124.17 ex VAT1. That figure is given in pounds sterling, excluding VAT, as stated by Origin Effects.

Background

Origin Effects announced the Switcher Interface, alongside a Remote Switcher Cable, on 18 May 2018 as accessories for controlling the RevivalDRIVE from remote switching systems. At that announcement the company said it was still finalising procurement of parts and components, with retail prices and availability to be announced2. The product page now carries full specifications and pricing1.

Questions

Which pedals work with the RevivalDRIVE Switcher Interface?

Origin Effects lists the Switcher Interface as compatible with the RevivalDRIVE, the RevivalDRIVE Custom and the company's Hot Rod pedals. It connects to the pedal's F/SWITCH jack socket, so any of those pedals with that footswitch jack can be controlled remotely from a switching system through the interface.

What cable connects the interface to the RevivalDRIVE?

Connection E on the Switcher Interface links to the RevivalDRIVE's F/SWITCH jack socket using a standard TRS cable. TRS means tip, ring and sleeve, the three-conductor arrangement that carries the separate switching signals between the two units.

What power supply does the Switcher Interface need?

It runs on a 9V DC 2.1 mm centre-negative power supply, connected at connection C. Connection D then daisy-chains that same power on to the RevivalDRIVE itself, so one supply can run both units.

Where is the Switcher Interface made?

Origin Effects designs and builds the Switcher Interface in England, according to the company's product page.
