The Peterson StroboVue is an always-on pedalboard strobe tuner: a screen-first tuner that stays in your signal chain at all times, showing your tuning at a glance without muting anything. RockBoard's PedalPedia describes it as providing ultra-accurate tuning with true strobe precision to 0.1 cent for guitars, basses, and other instruments1. It was introduced in January 2026, and Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson described it as "essentially just the screen part of the StroboStomp HD", Peterson's full-featured StroboStomp HD pedal tuner, with two controls on each side and no footswitch2.
Peterson's strobe pedal tuners carry weight on high-end boards: a Guitar.com review of a competing tuner called the StroboStomp HD and Mini line "pretty much the de facto high-end tuner pedals"3. The StroboVue takes that display technology and strips the switching out entirely.
What it does on a board
The StroboVue is built around visibility. RockBoard's PedalPedia specifies a high-definition multi-color LCD with a user-selectable LED backlight for optimal visibility on stage or in other lighting conditions1. Because there is no footswitch, the tuner never leaves your chain: you look down, see the strobe display, and tune while your guitar keeps sounding.
What Peterson loads into that screen:
- Over 100 exclusive Sweetened and Guided tuning presets for standard and alternate tunings1
- Selectable Drop/Capo settings from -6 to +52
- True strobe precision to 0.1 cent1
- High-definition multi-color LCD with user-selectable LED backlight1
The output is always buffered. RockBoard's PedalPedia says the always-on buffered output helps preserve your instrument's tone and signal strength through long cable runs and multiple pedals1, which puts the StroboVue in the same practical territory as a dedicated buffer at the front or middle of a board.
There is no footswitch and no true bypass on the StroboVue. It is meant to live permanently in your signal chain as a monitor, not to be switched in and out for silent tuning.
Controls and power
Guitar Pedal X describes the layout as a compact tuning monitor with two controls on each side of the screen2. Power comes from a standard center-negative 9V DC supply on a 2.1 mm barrel connector, drawing 85mA12. For comparison, a Guitar.com review noted a StroboStomp draws around 85mA as well4, so the screen-only design does not reduce the current budget you need from your power supply.

Where it came from
The StroboVue is the newest branch of Peterson's StroboStomp pedal family. The StroboStomp HD, announced in January 2019, added a multi-color display and a pop-less true bypass and buffered output mode to the long-running StroboStomp pedal56. The StroboVue, announced in January 2026, keeps the HD's screen section and drops the switching, in the same spirit as footswitch-less variants of other tuners. Stefan Karlsson of Guitar Pedal X wrote:
"I find this one slightly reminiscent of the Boss TU-3S compact Chromatic Tuner - which is also a footswitch-less variant"
That puts it alongside the BOSS TU-3s as a tuner meant to sit in the chain permanently rather than be stomped21.
Price and availability
At introduction in January 2026, Guitar Pedal X listed the StroboVue at an RRP of $129 / €149 / £129, and reported it should be imminently available at all major international dealers2.

Questions
Does the Peterson StroboVue have a footswitch?
No. The StroboVue has two controls on each side of the display and no footswitch at all. It is designed to sit permanently on your board as an always-on tuning monitor, so there is nothing to stomp: the screen shows your tuning continuously while you play, and your signal keeps passing through.
Does the StroboVue mute the signal while tuning?
No muting is part of the design. Peterson describes the StroboVue as an always-on pedalboard strobe tuner built for clear, at-a-glance tuning without muting your signal chain. Its output is always buffered, which Peterson says helps preserve your instrument's tone and signal strength through long cable runs and multiple pedals.
What polarity does the StroboVue power supply need?
The StroboVue runs on 9V DC with center-negative polarity, through a 2.1 mm barrel connector, and draws 85mA. That is a standard pedalboard supply configuration, but the 85mA draw is worth checking against your power supply's per-output budget.
How do you update the StroboVue firmware?
Firmware updates are done over USB-C. Peterson's product information confirms you can update the firmware via USB-C, and Guitar Pedal X's news coverage of the launch also lists the StroboVue as firmware updatable via USB-C.
How much does the StroboVue cost?
The StroboVue carries an RRP of $129 USD as of January 2026, when Peterson introduced it. In other markets the same RRP was listed as €149 in Europe and £129 in the UK.
