The Poly Effects Digit is a multi-effects pedal aimed mainly at delay and reverb. Delicious Audio's Paolo De Gregorio described it as "the Digit, which mainly offers delay and reverb algorithms"1, and Pedal of the Day reviewed it as "the Poly Effects Digit Quad Delay Reverb"2. Its headline feature is flexibility: Delicious Audio's product page, credited to Alex Maiolo, states that "All main effects can run at once"3, so a player can stack delay, reverb and other effects in a single unit rather than chaining separate pedals.
What it does
The Digit is built around delay and reverb algorithms1, and Pedal of the Day noted that it carries "built-in cabinet IRs"2, meaning impulse responses that model a speaker cabinet, useful for running the pedal direct into an audio interface or PA. Because all main effects can run at once3, it works as a compact alternative to a board of individual delay and reverb pedals, in the same family as other multi-effects pedals.
Control is through a 5" touch screen3, which is how the whole Poly Effects line differs from knob-and-footswitch pedals: settings are edited on screen rather than with physical controls.
Status: merged into Beebo
Poly Effects announced on 21 January 2021 that "Digit is merged into Beebo," with firmware 3.0 bringing the Digit's features into Poly Effects Beebo4.
That means the Digit as a separate product is no longer the current path for Poly Effects' delay and reverb algorithms. Players looking at the current lineup will find the same platform idea in the Poly Effects Beebo, and the maker's touch-interface approach also continues in pedals like the Poly Effects Trails stereo delay41.
