The Skumstortion is a distortion pedal made by ProTone. MusicRadar's round-up of distortion pedals listed it first, describing it as "First up is ProTone's Skumstortion (£129)", with a list price of £129 GBP1.
What it does
The Skumstortion is a distortion pedal, the effect type that clips the guitar's signal to add grit, sustain and edge. MusicRadar grouped it with three other high-gain pedals in a round-up aimed at players after a dirty, aggressive sound, and the publication's framing of the group as "filthy" distortion pedals gives a sense of the territory it was reviewed in1.
Price and availability
The only published price on record is the one MusicRadar gave at the time of review: £129 GBP1. That figure dates from April 2010 and is given in UK pounds as the review stated it; no US dollar list price is on record.
The Skumstortion received a single 2010 press review.
