The Marvel 3 Drive is an overdrive and distortion pedal from Ramble FX. It is an analog circuit, meaning the signal is shaped by physical components rather than digital processing, and it covers both overdrive and distortion territory in one box1.
Ramble FX describes the pedal's character as "A Marshall 'Plexi' in a box. Great sound !"1. The Plexi reference points at the vintage Marshall amplifiers prized for their raw, driving crunch, so the pedal is built to push an amp or stand in for one at lower volumes.
Where it fits in the Ramble FX range
The Marvel 3 Drive belongs to Ramble FX's Marvel line of Plexi-style drive pedals. The company also makes the Ramble FX Kismet, an overdrive/distortion pedal that pairs an analog signal path with digital control, presets, expression morphing and MIDI, and the related Marvel Drive1.
