The Epiphanous Drive is an overdrive pedal from Red Witch, part of the maker's Apothecary series. Its defining feature is that it holds two overdrive circuits in one enclosure: Red Witch's Ben Fulton describes it as offering "a beautiful, uncompressed, transparent Plexi-esque overdrive," and MusicRadar's Jonathan Horsley, writing with Fulton, called it a "beautiful, uncompressed, transparent Plexi-esque" overdrive pedal12.
What it does
The pedal's core trick is the Gain toggle. In its up position, the Epiphanous runs as a single overdrive. Switching the Gain toggle into the down position engages the second overdrive, putting the two circuits in series for what Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson describes as "an alternative, more intense / higher-gain voicing"14. Because the stages stack this way, MusicRadar describes the pedal as stackable2.
The controls are Volume and Drive dials, joined by Bite and Body for frequency tweaking and attack altering5. Red Witch explains that Bite sets the amount of upper frequency attack from the overdrive1.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Volume | Output level |
| Drive | Amount of overdrive |
| Bite | Sets the amount of upper frequency attack from the overdrive1 |
| Body | Frequency tweaking5 |
| Gain toggle | Single Drive / Dual Series Drive: engages the second overdrive in series4 |
| EQ toggle | Heaven Preset / Engage Bite & Body4 |
The EQ toggle is the other mode switch. Bite and Body can be switched out via the toggle in favor of Fulton's own EQ preset, called "Heaven"25.
Where it came from
The Epiphanous Drive sits in Red Witch's Apothecary series, and MusicRadar describes it as a "beautiful, uncompressed, transparent Plexi-esque" overdrive pedal2. Its Volume and Drive dials are joined by Bite and Body controls for frequency tweaking and attack altering, and a mini-switch brings in Fulton's own pre-baked EQ preset, "Heaven," which can be switched in via a toggle switch in place of the standard EQ25.
"These can be switched out via a toggle switch in favour of Fulton's own EQ preset, 'Heaven.'"
MusicRadar describes the Epiphanous Drive as a "beautiful, uncompressed, transparent Plexi-esque" overdrive, and its account of the pedal's design comes from Ben Fulton of Red Witch, whose Volume and Drive dials are joined by Bite and Body for frequency tweaking and attack altering, with a mini-switch carrying his own pre-baked EQ preset2.
Availability
Red Witch lists the Epiphanous as available exclusively only from Red Witch or Sweetwater1.

Questions
What does the Gain toggle do on the Epiphanous Drive?
The pedal contains two overdrive circuits. In the toggle's up position you get a single drive stage. Flipping the Gain toggle down engages the second overdrive in series with the first, which Red Witch describes as a more intense, higher-gain voicing called Dual Series Drive mode. Because the two stages stack, the pedal can also be described as stackable with other drives.
What is the Heaven preset?
Alongside the Bite and Body controls, which tweak upper-frequency attack and frequency shaping, the Epiphanous has an EQ toggle switch. In one position the Bite and Body controls are active; switched the other way, they are swapped out for a fixed EQ preset that Red Witch's Ben Fulton calls Heaven, his own pre-baked voicing for the pedal.
