Red Witch Eve

The Eve is an analog tremolo pedal from Red Witch, part of the maker's Seven Sisters range. Red Witch describes its character as "delicate, musical and hypnotic. Able to offer everything from a light pulse to a deep throb"¹. Like the rest of the Seven Sisters, it is a compact single-effect pedal aimed at players who want one job done rather than a menu of modes.

What it does

Eve shapes volume in the classic tremolo way, cycling the signal up and down at a set rate. Two controls set the effect. The Speed dial sets the tremolo speed¹, and the Depth knob sets how far the volume swings. Premier Guitar's reviewer described the range the Depth knob covers: at around the 3 o'clock position it gives a faint undulating motion, while turned fully up it becomes much stronger. "Turn it all the way up and you'll have a saturated, intense pulse," the review noted³.

That span matters in practice: at low depth settings the Eve can sit under a part as a gentle movement, while at maximum it becomes an obvious, hard-edged throb. MusicRadar's description of the sound, "everything from a light pulse to a deep throb," matches what the controls allow¹.

The Seven Sisters family

Eve is one of the Seven Sisters, a range Red Witch presented as "a revolutionary new concept in the realm of guitar effects pedals," according to MusicRadar's 2014 coverage¹. The series pairs compact enclosures with top-side jack sockets, a layout the maker highlights on its product page: "Jack sockets mounted on top side"². Top-mounted jacks keep the pedal's footprint narrow on a board, since patch cables run straight up rather than out to the sides.
