The Rowin LEF-606 Fuzz is a fuzz pedal made by Rowin, the Chinese effects maker whose compact mini pedals sell at very low prices1. It sits in the same family as the Rowin Frenzy, the Rowin Fuzz, the Rowin G-FUZZ and the Rowin S-FUZZ.
What it does
As a fuzz, it pushes the guitar signal into heavy clipping for a thick, saturated tone, the most aggressive of the gain-based effects and a step beyond overdrive and distortion1.
The one published review in hand comes from the YouTube channel Budget Pedal Chap, who bought the pedal a couple of years before recording, at a point before he had much experience with fuzz1. His verdict on the price was blunt:
"It is incredibly cheap however, so I guess it has that."
His main criticism was how the controls behave:
"the controls are super sensitive and you'll find that the sweet spots are really narrow bands within the sweep of each c"
In practice that means small knob movements move the tone a long way, and usable settings occupy only a narrow slice of each control's range. The reviewer was also careful not to judge the whole company on one pedal, saying "I'm not willing to completely write off an entire company based on one pedal"1.
The video covers the pedal's sound and controls in detail, and is the fullest published account of how it behaves on a board.
