The Time Traveler Delay is a delay pedal from Spürr Audio, announced in July 2023 at a retail price of US $2351. Spurr Audio describes it as an analog-inspired guitar pedal that combines vintage warmth and modern versatility, with up to 500ms of delay time1. The pedal's most obvious feature is its look: it pays homage to the Back to the Future time machine, with an animated enclosure treatment that Spurr Audio calls accurate to the film's vehicle1.
A handcrafted build with a time machine look
Every Time Traveler Delay is meticulously handcrafted, and Spurr Audio says that ensures every unit is unique in its own right1. Pedal of the Day's review makes the same point from the other side of the bench: "Each Time Traveler delay is entirely crafted by hand and unique in its own"2. For a player, that means the pedal you see in a demo or a store photo will not be the exact enclosure you receive, and two players' Time Travelers will not match.
The theme runs through the whole design. Spurr Audio frames the pedal as a tribute to the film's time machine, and the reviewer at Pedal of the Day thought the maker pulled it off12:
"Cheers to Spürr Audio on capturing the essence of the greatest time machine ever, along with some really wonderful delay"
What it does to your sound
Spurr Audio describes the Time Traveler as immersing guitar tone in rich, analog warmth across its 500ms range1. Pedal of the Day calls it an analog sounding delay and a warm-sounding delay pedal, judging it a great unit on aesthetics alone before even weighing the tones2. As with any delay, the repeats sit behind your dry signal; the pedal's voicing is the part the maker and reviewers describe, and both point to a vintage-leaning character with modern flexibility1.
Beyond straightforward repeats, the pedal is built for experimentation. Spurr Audio highlights "the ability to create mesmerizing oscillating delays that surge and evolve"1, and Pedal of the Day confirms the pedal "is capable of oscillation with infinite repeats"2. In practice, that means pushing the feedback into self-oscillation lets the repeats build and shift on their own, a feature players of ambient and experimental styles often look for in a delay.

Questions
How long is the delay time on the Spurr Audio Time Traveler?
The Time Traveler Delay offers up to 500ms of delay time. Premier Guitar's press release describes the pedal's repeats as having rich, analog warmth across that range, and Pedal of the Day's review confirms the same 500ms maximum in its own look at the pedal.
Is the Spurr Audio Time Traveler truly analog?
Spurr Audio presents the Time Traveler Delay as an analog-inspired guitar pedal rather than a fully analog circuit, and Pedal of the Day describes it as analog sounding. The maker's own wording centers on vintage warmth and modern versatility, so it is best understood as a delay voiced in the analog tradition.
Can it do infinite repeats?
Yes. Both Premier Guitar's announcement and Pedal of the Day's review describe the pedal's ability to oscillate, with repeats that surge and evolve, and Pedal of the Day states outright that it is capable of oscillation with infinite repeats.
How much does the Spurr Audio Time Traveler Delay cost?
Premier Guitar's July 2023 announcement lists a retail price of US $235, available for purchase at that time. Because each pedal is handcrafted, the maker noted that quantities are limited.
Why is every Time Traveler enclosure different?
Each Time Traveler Delay is meticulously handcrafted, which Spurr Audio says ensures every unit is unique in its own right. Pedal of the Day makes the same point, noting that each pedal is entirely crafted by hand and unique, so no two enclosures look alike.
