The Stomp Under Foot Op-Amp Fuzz is a fuzz pedal made by Stomp Under Foot builder Matt Pasquerella, produced in 2010. It belongs to the builder's line of Big Muff inspired pedals, alongside designs like the Ram's Head, Green Russian, and Civil War1.
What it does
The pedal is a take on the op-amp era of the Big Muff fuzz. Matt at Stomp Under Foot said his version was based on a V4 Big Muff, the fourth circuit version of the Electro-Harmonix original1.
How close it comes to the original
Independent reviewer Kit Rae, who documents Big Muff inspired pedals and clones on his site, compared the Op-Amp Fuzz against his own vintage V4. Matching the knobs to the sound rather than copying knob positions, he found the Stomp Under Foot pedal held up well1:
"The SUF was fairly close."

That comparison was made against the vintage V4 with the controls set by ear, which is worth noting for anyone evaluating the pedal against an original: the settings that get there may not match the positions on the vintage unit.
