The Mobin Overdrive is an overdrive pedal from Sublime Guitar Company, a maker based in Florida. Pedal of the Day called it one of the company's flagship pedals, and its reviewer described it as "an awesome overdrive pedal"1. It sits in the overdrive family, alongside related drive pedals like the Sublime Guitar Company Hippy Joel Overdrive.
The controls and the three-way toggle
The Mobin's control layout is straightforward: Drive, Level and Tone knobs, plus the toggle that sets the pedal's voice1. The Drive knob controls the drive amount, and the reviewer found it had plenty on tap: "This thing has got some cojones, especially when you crank that Drive knob"1.
The centerpiece is the 3-way toggle switch. As reviewer Mike B put it, it "basically turns this gray box into 3 distinct and kick-ass overdrive pedals"1.
| Toggle position | Voice |
|---|---|
| UP | Warm and inviting; can drive a tube amp to gorgeous places1 |
| MIDDLE | Nice and gainy, pushing your tone and getting good and distorted1 |
| DOWN | Compressed, a little lower on the sonic spectrum, but nice and fat, with great lows and mids1 |
What reviewers said
Ease of use was the standout in the Pedal of the Day review. Mike B found a great range of tones that were easy to dial in, saying "it's really easy to dial in a great tone in about 3 seconds"1.
