The T-Rex Twister 2 is a chorus pedal from T-Rex that also operates as a flanger. It is an updated take on the original Twister: the unit received a hardware and software update for this version, which promises a greater tonal range and a more vintage-sounding chorus effect1. T-Rex says that by adjusting Depth, Tone and Rate, the Twister 2 can deliver both old-fashioned vintage sound and a more modern chorus sound2.
Controls
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Depth, Tone, Rate | Adjust to deliver both old-fashioned vintage chorus and a more modern chorus sound2 |
| Regen | Controls the amount of feedback when using the Flanger1 |
| Gain (side of unit) | Allows you to avoid overdrive distortion1 |
The three main knobs are the heart of the chorus side. T-Rex frames the range broadly: "by adjusting Depth, Tone and Rate, you can make Twister II deliver both old-fashioned vintage sound as well as a more modern chorus sound"2. The side-mounted gain knob addresses a practical concern for players running hot signals, keeping the effect from breaking up1.
Stereo output and studio use
The pedal offers an optional stereo output. Delicious Audio notes it as "a nice feature to have when recording in the studio"1.
