The TC Electronic Gravy Tri-Chorus & Vibrato is a custom Guitar Center version of the company's Corona Chorus pedal, carrying two exclusive effects in one enclosure: a tri-chorus and a vibrato. Both sounds were custom tuned by Barry Mitchell, Guitar Center's Director of Merchandise1. TC Electronic describes the pedal as more of a retro take on the Corona Chorus, resulting in a sound aimed at pleasing even the most tone-conscious guitarist, with the tri-chorus tweaked for maximum fatness1.
Two effects in one pedal
The Gravy's two sounds are exclusive to the pedal and were both tuned by Barry Mitchell1. The first is the tri-chorus. The second is a vibrato: TC Electronic says Mitchell's second sound takes its roots from a vibrato effect that aims at a classic pitch warble but increases the speed, in the direction of Leslie-type tones1. Players who want more of that territory can look at the site's Vibrato Pedals page; the tri-chorus side belongs to the wider family of Chorus Pedals.
A variant of the Corona Chorus
The Gravy is a variant of the Corona Chorus, the pedal TC Electronic later shrank into the Corona Mini Chorus as part of its Mini Pedals line12. On the Gravy, TC Electronic says its Tri-chorus and Chorus settings are custom tuned by Guitar Center's Director of Merchandise Barry Mitchell1. Mitchell's second sound, the company says, takes its roots from a vibrato effect that aims at a classic pitch warble but increases the speed1. The pedal keeps a small footprint that saves pedalboard space, with a road-ready design and high quality components, at a street price of $149.99 USD1.
The Gravy takes that platform and retunes it: a retro take on the Corona, with the tri-chorus and chorus settings custom tuned by Mitchell and a vibrato added as the second sound1.

Questions
Is the TC Electronic Gravy true bypass?
Yes. TC Electronic describes the Gravy Tri-Chorus & Vibrato as true bypass, with zero loss of tone when the pedal is switched off. That matters on a pedalboard where the pedal sits in front of a clean amp, since the signal passes through the pedal's switching untouched when the effect is disengaged.
Does the Gravy run in stereo?
Yes. The Gravy has stereo inputs and outputs, which TC Electronic says is for added flexibility in a set-up. A stereo rig lets the tri-chorus spread its voices across two amps or a stereo pair, in the same way the Corona Chorus's tri-chorus switch is intended for stereo use.
Does the Gravy take a battery?
Yes. TC Electronic points to easy battery access on the Gravy, so the pedal can run from a battery as well as a power supply, with the battery compartment made simple to reach when it needs changing.
Who tuned the Gravy's chorus and vibrato sounds?
Barry Mitchell, Guitar Center's Director of Merchandise, custom tuned the Gravy's Tri-chorus and Chorus settings. His second sound for the pedal is a vibrato that TC Electronic says takes its roots from a classic pitch warble and increases the speed, aimed at Leslie-type tones.
How is the Gravy different from the Corona Chorus?
The Gravy is a custom Guitar Center version of the Corona Chorus pedal, described by TC Electronic as more of a retro take on the Corona, tweaked for maximum fatness in its tri-chorus sound. Its two effects, the tri-chorus and the vibrato, are exclusive to the pedal and tuned by Barry Mitchell.
Where was the Gravy first sold?
The Gravy Tri-Chorus & Vibrato was available exclusively through Guitar Center and Musicians Friend, beginning September 21st, 2012, at a street price of $149.99 USD.
